Ayrshire Housing has launched a new People and Culture Strategy to create a working environment that it hopes will make it the employer of choice within the Scottish housing sector.

The strategy ‘Building Brilliance’ outlines actions and outcomes over the next five years that will help them attract new talent, develop existing colleagues and engage and retain a high-performing, customer focused team.

Lisa Quinn, Ayrshire Housing’s people and culture manager, said: “Our People & Culture Strategy provides a values-led approach to colleague engagement. It provides colleagues with ownership and accountability. Our people are at the very heart of all of our activities and all colleagues will have a part to play in the success of this strategy as they were central to its development, built as it was on feedback from annual colleague surveys and focus groups.

“The Scottish housing sector is ever-evolving and an empowered workforce fit for the future with a strong and thriving culture is essential to our success.”

Ayrshire Housing was established in 2003 through the merger of Carrick Housing Association and South Ayrshire Homes. Since then, it has grown rapidly, managing 1700 affordable rented homes in urban and rural environments. By 2030, the Strategy will have transformed the organisation approach to supporting colleagues by creating an even more supportive place to work where all colleagues have the opportunity to thrive.

Lisa Quinn added: “The new strategy fits our People & Culture Vision that Ayrshire Housing is a great place to work, where colleagues are empowered to deliver excellent customer service, have opportunities to develop and thrive. By fostering an inclusive and supportive culture which prioritises colleague development, we will aim to attract and retain the most talented colleagues in the sector.”
