Ayrshire Housing outperforms tenant satisfaction benchmarks
More tenants than ever are happy with the quality of their Ayrshire Housing home with satisfaction rates rising from 80% to 92% since 2022
A new tenant satisfaction survey has shown that Ayrshire Housing is outperforming the Scottish average across all benchmarked indicators.
The survey questioned a sample of 680 tenants for their thoughts on the performance of the association across seven indices, covering everything from the quality of their homes to the promptness of repairs. This represents 40% of Ayrshire’s total tenants from across the housing association’s varied housing stock.
Of the seven benchmarked areas, the standout performances were in keeping tenants informed, which 99% of tenants thought they were doing well. Other statistics of note included 88% being satisfied with repairs and 94% being satisfied with the overall quality of their home.
“Surveys are important to us because they tell us how we are doing against historic benchmarks and against other associations,” said Ayrshire Housing chief executive, Lesley-Anne Junner. “It gives us vital information from which to make investment decisions to improve our services and the quality of our housing stock.”
The survey is based on the sector-wide standards of the key Scottish Social Housing Charter indicators for customer satisfaction. General satisfaction levels are all up compared to the last survey results back in 2022.
For instance, overall satisfaction rates with the service have increased from 83% to 91%, satisfaction with the repair service has jumped from 80% approval to 88% and tenants claiming to be satisfied with the overall quality of their home have grown from 80% to 92%. Satisfaction with the association’s rent levels also increased rising from 74% to 90%.
The survey showed that Ayrshire was performing above the Scottish average across all Housing Charter indicators. Most significantly in value for money at 8% above the average and on quality of their home where tenants reported a 9% return above the country average.
Ayrshire Housing was established in 2003 through the merger of Carrick Housing Association and South Ayrshire Homes. Since then, it has grown rapidly to become one of the area’s leading providers of high quality, affordable rented housing managing 1700 homes in both urban and rural environments.
“These results are impressive and show that we are moving in the right direction in providing good quality affordable homes in great neighbourhoods,” added Lesley-Anne.
“But we won’t be standing still this information will allow us to plan even better services in the future.
“Customer excellence is at the heart of everything we do and these improvements are down to the dedication of our staff team delivering service improvements everyone can be proud of.”
