Ayrshire Housing has half funded a project so that audiences at Ayr’s weekly organ recitals can see the organists hand and foot movements on projector screens.

The move is designed to add interest to the performances on Ayr’s internationally recognised Town Hall organ.

The concerts are organised through the voluntary effort of the Fort, Seafield and Wallacetoun Community Council.

Ayrshire Housing board member, Councillor William Grant, who presented a cheque for £631, said: “Ayrshire Housing is delighted to support the Community Council’s hard work in organising these concerts. These weekly lunchtime events are unique in Scotland. They showcase the Town Hall’s splendid organ to a wide audience.”

The award was made as part of Ayrshire Housing’s Building Community Capacity awards scheme which aims to foster voluntary activity to the benefit of Ayrshire’s communities.
