Barrhead Housing’s Charity of the Year initiative has resulted in a £2,200 donation to MND Scotland.

The East Renfrewshire housing association’s fundraising activities throughout the past year ranged from raffles to participation in Kiltwalk events.

Lynne Wiseman, MND Scotland’s fundraising lead (corporate and individual), visited Barrhead Housing’s Main Street office to receive the cheque.

“It was the perfect opportunity to reflect and cement our successful partnership with what is a fantastic Scottish charity,” said Barrhead Housing chief executive Lorna Wilson.

“We will be choosing our new 2026 charity shortly, but our close relationship with MND Scotland will continue. We remain actively committed to supporting people living with motor neurone disease and their families.”

Barrhead Housing, which owns and manages more than 1000 affordable homes, is part of FLAIR Group, a partnership of six housing associations in Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire that promotes collaboration and best practice. Founded in 1999, its aim is to improve the lives of tenants and the services provided to them.

“Our membership of FLAIR is a great example of our long-term commitment to making a positive and lasting difference to the lives of the people and communities we serve,” added Lorna.

Lynne Wiseman praised “the wonderful fundraising efforts” of Barrhead Housing staff, adding: “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved. Their efforts throughout the past year are hugely appreciated.”
