One of East Lothian’s most ancient towns, the site is close to the historic battlefield where Bonnie Prince Charlie defeated the government’s army and is part of a vibrant new community. On completion, Blindwells will feature new educational facilities, a healthcare hub, retail outlets and social housing.

Lynn Pringle, sales director, Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland East), said: “In just a matter of a few years, Blindwells has transformed from a greenbelt site into a thriving new community with significant infrastructure and space planning to create a contemporary environment for people to live.

“Blindwells is definitely a destination of choice for people seeing affordable new homes within easy reach of the capital and we’re confident that clients will enjoy the mix of new properties we will have on offer.”

Construction work is expected to start in the summer.
