Bield on the lookout for volunteers in Linlithgow
Bield’s West Port Resource Centre in Linlithgow is seeking friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to assist with the running of a variety of daily social activities.
Social activity programmes such as are hugely popular and have proven successful in encouraging tenants to get out and about and mingle with others in the local community.
The request for volunteers is for:
The social activity programme is central to Bield’s “free to be” ethos, which supports people to make their own decisions about how they live their lives while also being there to assist them when they need it.
Donna Dickson, volunteer development worker for Bield, said: “Our volunteers are an integral part of our development as they can often encourage service users to get out and about and meet new people, which we believe is very important.
“We are always looking for ways to enrich the lives of our tenants and the positive feedback we have received proves that this programme is incredibly beneficial and rewarding for our tenants and our volunteers.”
If you have some spare time, enjoy socialising with others and can spare a few hours once a week, Bield would love to hear from you. Please note a minimum six-month commitment is required.
Enquiries are welcome from people of all ages over 16. Full training and support will be given and out-of-pocket expenses paid.
