Multi-year fire door replacement programme completed for South Lanarkshire Council

CCG has completed a multi-year fire door replacement programme for South Lanarkshire Council.

The construction and manufacturing group commenced the £10 million supply-and-fit contract in late-2022, completing its final phase earlier this summer, with 4,000 door sets installed across 1,700 residences and 20 high-rise apartment blocks in Cambuslang, East Kilbride, Rutherglen and Hamilton.

Each phase benefited from a manufacturing and installation process led entirely by CCG’s in-house divisions.

Head of housing services, Sharon Egan, said: “It’s great news that this substantial project has now been completed. The specification of the doors ultimately combines to help safeguard the lives of both residents and emergency personnel in the event of a fire, while also delivering improved security.

“On behalf of the council, I would like to thank CCG for completing the work on our behalf.”

Jim Cunningham, CCG Asset Management manager, said: “CCG gives our sincere thanks to South Lanarkshire Council for the trust and support they have shown us over the last three and a half years.

“We are extremely proud of the contract – from our operatives in the factories to our teams on the ground, every person worked to the best of their abilities, evidencing the advantages of direct procurement, partnership working and CCG’s overall supply-and-fit capabilities.”

The South Lanarkshire Council Fire Door Replacement Programme was procured through the Scottish Procurement Alliance.
