CIH Scotland is keeping housing centre stage of the 2016 Scottish Parliament elections with the publication of a series of blogs from the five main political parties.

Following CIH Scotland’s successful Housing Hustings earlier this month, in partnership with SFHA, RICS Scotland and Shelter Scotland, the organisation invited all of the panellists to write a blog setting out their vision and priorities for housing over the next five years.

You can download these all below:

  • Alex Johnstone - Scottish Conservative Party
  • Patrick Harvie - Scottish Green Party
  • Ken McIntosh - Scottish Labour Party
  • Jim Hume - Scottish Liberal Democrats
  • Jim Eadie - Scottish National Party
  • CIH Scotland published its own Agenda for Change at the beginning of March and has been encouraging Holyrood candidates from all political parties to pledge their support for the five priority policy areas outlined in the document. To date, 43 candidates have officially signed up.

Commenting on the publication of the new blogs, CIH Scotland executive director, Annie Mauger, said: “We’re keen to ensure that our 2,300-strong membership of housing professionals throughout Scotland are able to make as informed a choice as possible when it comes to voting in next week’s Scottish elections.

“To that end, we have published this series of blogs from the five main political parties which outline their priorities for housing policy over the lifetime of the next Scottish Parliament. Hopefully, their publication will help to stimulate further debate and to keep housing centre stage as this election campaign enters its final week.”
