Held at Alloa Town Hall, the free community event offered something for all ages, with entertainment, food and opportunities for residents to connect with local housing providers and community organisations.

The event featured a range of popular attractions including live music from Walk Don’t Run, magic shows and balloon modelling from Magic Den, face painting and glitter tattoos provided by Party Face Painting, complimentary ice creams from Gary’s Ices and a buffet supplied by Jeanie’s Rolls.

The event was made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of Aico, whose support enabled all activities and refreshments to be provided free of charge for attendees.

Jade Murray, tenant engagement & communication officer at Ochil View Housing Association, said: “The Community Housing Day was a fantastic example of what can be achieved when organisations work together for the benefit of local people. It was wonderful to see over 100 residents of all ages come along, enjoy the activities and spend time connecting with their neighbours and local housing providers.

“Events like this help strengthen communities, tackle isolation and create opportunities for residents to engage with services in a positive and informal setting. We are incredibly grateful to Aico for sponsoring the event and to all of the entertainers, suppliers, partners and volunteers who helped make the day such a success.”

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with residents praising the family-friendly atmosphere, entertainment and opportunity to meet members of their local community.

Organisers said they hope to build on the success of this year’s event and are already exploring opportunities to make next year’s Community Housing Day even bigger and better.
