Clyde Valley Housing Association secures £1.48m for energy-efficient home upgrades
Clyde Valley Housing Association (CVHA) has secured £1.48 million in funding from the Scottish Government to support a major programme of window and door replacements across 249 homes in Airdrie, Hamilton and Motherwell.
The funding, awarded through the Scottish Government’s Social Housing Net Zero Heat Fund, will support a £3m investment programme to install high-performance triple-glazed windows and insulated doors.
CVHA has appointed Sidey Solutions Ltd to deliver the programme and the installations are scheduled to commence in January 2026 and will run through to July 2026.
The Social Housing Net Zero Heat Fund supports registered social landlords to decarbonise their housing stock by delivering energy efficiency measures and clean heating solutions. The fund plays a key role in helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, tackle fuel poverty and contribute to Scotland’s ambition to reach net zero emissions by 2045.
Through the installation of triple-glazed windows and insulated doors, the programme will significantly improve the energy efficiency of homes, reduce heat loss and lower carbon emissions associated with heating. Tenants will benefit from warmer homes, lower energy bills, improved soundproofing and enhanced security, helping to improve comfort while reducing the risk of fuel poverty.
Sinclair Young, director of property and development at Clyde Valley Housing Association, said: “This investment represents a major step forward in improving the quality, comfort and energy efficiency of our homes.
“Securing £1.48m from the Scottish Government allows us to deliver a £3m programme that will make a real difference for our customers, helping to keep homes warmer, reduce energy bills and support Scotland’s transition to net zero.
“We’re pleased to be working with Sidey Solutions Ltd to deliver these important upgrades across Airdrie, Hamilton and Motherwell.”
Clyde Valley Housing Association said it remains focused on delivering improvements that benefits customers whilst making the transition to net zero.
