Clydebank label producer welcomes £8,900 fundraising effort

Staff at MCC Label based in Clydebank have delivered a bumper cash boost to help make homelessness a thing of the past.

The team at the label producer raised £8916 by sleeping out at December’s ‘Sleep in the Park’ event held in Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow.

And this week the co-founder of event organisers Social BiteJosh Littlejohn MBE - visited Clydebank to receive the cheque and personally thank the MCC team.

Thousands took part in the huge gathering which was also held simultaneously in Dundee, Aberdeen and Edinburgh. It raised over £3 million.

Josh said: “By raising money and working together we can accelerate the pace of change in Scotland and create the political mandate to end homelessness here.

“We are immensely grateful to MCC – this is a huge boost to the money raised on the night and I was very keen to come to Clydebank personally to thank the team at MCC.”

Social Bite is well known across Scotland for its inspiring anti-homelessness work. It runs social enterprise cafes throughout the country, and has built the Social Bite Village in Edinburgh to help get homeless people back on their feet.

It also distributes 140,000 items of food and hot drinks to homeless people every year.
