Community fund put forward for another national award

The Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA) has been given the nod for a national industry award after supporting communities for over ten years to realise their potential.
The firm has been shortlisted for the Go Awards Scotland 2025/2026 Excellence in Social Value Award thanks to its Community Benefit Fund (CBF).
This latest nomination is hot on the heels of SPA being shortlisted in the Herald & GenAnalytics Scottish Impact Awards 2025 in the Community Impact category. The recognition highlighted companies that deliver real and inclusive change through ESG commitments.
To date, SPA’s Community Benefit Fund, which is managed in partnership with housing charity Lintel Trust, has supported over 35,000 people, delivering £1.1m to 53 organisations that have supported 116 projects.
Lesley Peaty, regional director for SPA, said: “The GO Awards are among the most prestigious honours in our sector, so to be shortlisted for the Social Value Award is an outstanding endorsement of the impact our team continues to deliver.
“For more than a decade, we’ve worked hand-in-hand with Lintel Trust to ensure every project is shaped around real, local priorities. That approach makes sure that the funds impact is immediate and visible, as well as being sustainable.
“The results speak for themselves. Across Scotland, more than 100 initiatives have been supported, with thousands of people benefitting from targeted investment where it’s needed most. We are proud to have remained unwavering in this support even in the face of the current cost-of-living crisis and in previous years during the pandemic.”
The GO Awards, supported by the Scottish Government, recognise excellence in public procurement and highlight best practice from across Scotland’s public, private and third sectors.
Judged by senior procurement leaders from across the UK, the awards are regarded as the highest honour for organisations driving improvements in public services through efficient, ethical and impactful procurement.
Lesley added: “Since launching the Community Benefit Fund in 2017, we’ve provided each of SPA’s 14 founding partners the opportunity to apply for an annual £10,000 grant, supporting a wide range of community-led projects right across Scotland.
“Earlier this year, we brought our rebate initiative – which returns a share of framework spend back to public sector partners, under the same umbrella as the CBF.
“By combining these two powerful streams of investment, we’re giving communities access to even greater levels of support, at a time when it’s needed most.
“In 2024 alone, more than £513,000 was distributed to 36 organisations, and since the fund’s creation, the combined value of grants and rebates has now surpassed £5.4 million.
“Along the way, we’ve learned valuable lessons about what works, where support is most effective, and how we can strengthen outcomes year on year.
“We’re constantly evolving the fund – refining our approach to ensure it continues to meet real-world needs and delivers the maximum impact for the people and places we serve.”
The GO Awards Scotland 2025/26 Ceremony will take place on 28 October 2025 at the Marriott, Glasgow.
