Customer scrutiny award for River Clyde Homes

River Clyde Homes, the Inverclyde-based housing association, and its Customer Senate have won the Excellence in Customer Scrutiny Award at the CIH Scotland 2015 Excellence Awards.

The award recognises their collaborative approach in demonstrating excellence in their scrutiny activities, with particular focus on their first investigation into the ‘time taken to re-let short term voids’.

The judges considered how scrutiny has been embedded into landlords’ performance management arrangements and the positive outcomes this has achieved for their customers in line with the requirements of the Scottish Social Housing Charter.

Joyce Stephens, River Clyde Homes Customer Senator, said: “We are delighted and honoured to have won this award in recognition of the hard work and commitment of both the customers and River Clyde Homes and we will continue to work with the association to enhance the customer experience.”

Katrina Anderson, River Clyde Homes Board member, said: “This award galvanises our commitment to become a more customer focussed organisation and paves the way for the future of customer involvement at River Clyde Homes. I hope this success will encourage more customers to get involved in this award winning initiative.”

River Clyde Homes was presented with the award by Housing Minister Margaret Burgess.

Michael Lynch of River Clyde Homes was also nominated for the Margaret Vass Excellence in Frontline Housing Award for his work in maximising benefits and providing information to customers which support them in sustaining their tenancy.
