Situated next to Agnes Husband House, home of Social Security Scotland, and across the road from the V&A Dundee, the development could also include retail and food and drink units, and car parking.

In a proposal of application notice submitted to Dundee City Council, Robertson Construction Tayside describes it as a “major development” which would be “phased” to deliver office accommodation and residential units.

Public exhibitions of the plans are scheduled to take place at Dundee House on May 19 and June 9, in addition to an online event.

In 2018, a council report revealed that Marriott was in line to operate a hotel on the site under its ‘AC’ brand but it emerged in September 2020 that the chain’s plans were in jeopardy.

The office and residential proposal was included in Dundee City Council’s latest capital plan which outlines a £15 million commitment to “provide grade A office accommodation and attract further investment and employment within the Waterfront area”.
