Christine Jardine, MP for Edinburgh West, visited David Wilson Homes’ West Craigs Quarter development on Friday 28 November to celebrate award-winning project manager Ewan MacLean, and to discuss the wider benefits of the development for the local community and economy.
The visit comes as Ewan MacLean, project manager at West Craigs Quarter, secured a coveted NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award, a prestigious industry accolade recognising exceptional standards in homebuilding.
Ewan has worked with Barratt and David Wilson Homes, both part of the UK’s leading housebuilder Barratt Redrow, since 2003, beginning his career as an Assistant Site Manager at the Duloch Park development in Atholl Brae. He was promoted to Site Manager in 2005 before progressing to Project Manager in 2017.
Over the course of his career, Ewan has received significant industry recognition, including his first Pride in the Job award at Plot Q Highrise in 2009, followed by a further 10 Pride in the Job awards, three Seals of Excellence awards, and a 2nd place ranking in the UK for Health and Safety in 2019. He has also achieved first place twice in the Scotland region for Forward Through Quality.

His achievement also reflects Barratt Redrow’s ongoing commitment to nurturing talent and supporting skills development within the construction industry.
Ewan MacLean, project manager at David Wilson Homes’ West Craigs Quarter development and NHBC award-winner, said: “Winning the Pride in the Job award is a testament to the hard work of the entire team here at West Craigs Quarter. It’s fantastic to be recognised for delivering homes of the highest quality, and to have had the opportunity to showcase that work to Christine Jardine.”
Christine Jardine, MP for Edinburgh West, said: “It was fantastic to meet Ewan and congratulate him on such a fantastic achievement in winning the Pride in Job award.
“Building houses in the current climate is no easy feat and it is reassuring to know there is such commitment and drive in the industry.”
