EHRA hosts tour of Greater Easterhouse for SFHA and Scottish Government

The Easterhouse Housing and Regeneration Housing Alliance (EHRA) recently welcomed senior Scottish Government and Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) figures for a visit and tour of Greater Easterhouse.

The Scottish Government’s director general of communities, Louise McDonald, and Sarah Doherty joined SFHA chief executive Sally Thomas and policy lead Annabel Pigeon on the trip last week.

The EHRA tour visited the seven community-based housing associations operating in Greater Easterhouse, the areas regenerated by the private sector and the Wheatley Group and the remaining derelict sites.

EHRA members explained the partnership approach that EHRA promotes, including joint training, sharing services, joint procurement, partnership working with agencies and providing support and mentoring for staff and committee members.

The tour included a visit to Easterhouse Sports Centre, a community asset transfer that is working in partnership with EHRA to deliver a range of services for local people.

EHRA (Easterhouse Housing and Regeneration Alliance) is a campaigning organisation in Greater Easterhouse working together to raise awareness of the issues affecting the communities of Greater Easterhouse.
