External wall insulation underway at Cunninghame

Homes on Kirkland Crescent, Dalry

Work is underway to improve the energy efficiency of 97 Cunninghame Housing Association homes in Dalry.

The £2.4 million project will see External Wall Insulation (EWI) installed to improve the energy efficiency of the homes, making them cheaper to heat and lowering energy bills for tenants.

Managed jointly with Warmworks, a consultant committed to giving reasonable warmth and driving the cut of carbon emissions, the project is supported by £1.02m from the Scottish Government’s Social Housing Net Zero Heat Fund.

A spokesperson for Cunninghame Housing Association said: “We are committed to supporting the government’s aims around climate change. We understand the impact energy price increases have on our tenants. The EWI project offers the opportunity to achieve both goals while improving the appearance of our timber properties in Dalry.

“Our contractor, Insulated Render Systems Scotland, began on site in May.”

It is hoped the project will be finished by early 2024.
