Fife Council seeks views of people with experience of homelessness

People across Fife who are currently homeless, or who have experienced homelessness in the past, are being encouraged to take part in a new survey to help shape future homelessness services.

Fife Council’s Housing Service, working with Turning Point Scotland, has launched the survey to better understand people’s individual circumstances, the support they received, and what might have helped earlier to prevent homelessness.

The survey is open to anyone with lived experience of homelessness.

Councillor Judy Hamilton, spokesperson for Housing and Building Services, said: “We know that homelessness is often the result of complex, personal circumstances, and it’s important that we listen carefully to people’s experiences. This survey gives people the opportunity to share what support helped them, and where earlier intervention might have made a difference.

“Alongside the work already underway to strengthen prevention and reduce homelessness, what people tell us will help inform how we plan and develop services and make sure support is provided at the right time.”

The feedback will help the council understand what is working well and where improvements could be made, and will feed into future homelessness planning as work begins on the next Homelessness Strategy.
