Fife Housing Group dishes out over £20,000 to local charities at annual event

Fife Housing Group hosted a fun-filled community event to showcase the recipients of the £20,000 Giving Something Back grant funding they distribute annually.
This year’s celebrations took place at Rosyth Parish Church and brought together local organisations, residents and supporters for an evening of inspiration, community spirit and plenty of pizza.
Now in its fifth year, the Giving Something Back Grants programme was established to recognise and support some of the incredible organisations making a real difference across Fife. These grants are made possible by the generosity of contractors who join Fife Housing Group’s charitable framework, donating 2% of their invoiced costs to support good causes.
Successful grant applicants were invited to the event to ‘pitch’ their project to local residents and a panel of judges, who then determined the level of funding each group would receive.
This year’s judging panel included Brian Fisher, chair of the Fife Housing Group board, Nicki Donaldson, chief executive, and John Bell, chair of Resident VOICES.
Following a fantastic round of pitches, Fife Housing Group were delighted to award funding to thirteen community organisations: Amazing Grace - Friends of Fetal Medicine, Team Jak Foundation, Peacocks in Pittencrieff Park, Fife Breastfeeding Mums Kirkcaldy Café, Linton Lane Centre, The King’s Theatre, Richmond’s Hope, Rosyth Sharks RFC, West Fife Woodlands Group, KRFC Blues, Homelands Trust Fife, The Cottage Family Centre and Viewforth High School.
Chair of the Fife Housing Group board and member of the judging panel, Brian Fisher, said: “It was a privilege to attend the Giving Something Back event and to have the opportunity to speak with those pitching for grants. It was clear to me that they were all passionate about the causes they were involved in and it was fantastic that we were able to help them.”
Other highlights of the evening included delicious pizzas provided by the Scottish Pizza Co, activities for the kids, a tombola and the chance to win a tablet.
The next round of Giving Something Back Grants is expected to open for applications in Spring 2026.
