Their brand new Happy Holiday Hampers event offered a selection of thoughtfully chosen treats to help make Christmas a little bit brighter for those who might need a lift. Tenants were invited to nominate a special neighbour, friend or themselves and colleagues were also given the opportunity to suggest tenants they thought might appreciate a little pick-me-up.

Demand was high, and colleagues really got into the spirit of the season, preparing and distributing Happy Holiday Hampers to 40 lucky households ahead of Christmas.

The organisation also brought back a firm favourite, with the return of its digital 12 Days of Christmas event from 1st to 12th December. Each day at 12 noon saw a new door on their Facebook advent calendar open to reveal that day’s winner and their prize.

With gifts ranging in value from £25 to over £100, the festive countdown once again proved a popular and joyful way to celebrate the season. The special treats behind each door included Christmas dinner for two, Fife Ice Arena skating tickets and a professional house clean to help start the new year afresh.

Melissa Birrell, engagement officer at Fife Housing Group, who helped to organise the events, said: “We know Christmas can be a really difficult time for many people, so it has been lovely to do something that brings a bit of extra cheer into our communities.

“Our colleagues have loved getting out and about and personally delivering a little bit of extra happiness again this year. The response to both the Happy Holiday Hampers and 12 Days of Christmas has been fantastic and it’s been a real privilege to help spread some kindness and make the festive season feel that little bit brighter for some of our tenants.”

Both events formed part of Fife Housing Group’s ongoing commitment to supporting tenants and spreading positivity throughout the festive period. Sponsorship from contractor CR Smith has also helped the organisation to continue delivering events like these this year.
