Funding boost for Spire View Housing Association

The Spire View Housing Association-operated Roystonhill Community Hub is celebrating a £6,414.00 funding boost from SUEZ Communities Trust for Skylight Window Blinds to enable a community cinema and a wider range of community activities.

Roystonhill Community Hub opened in 2019 and is in the heart of Royston, providing a wide range of support services and activities to the local community and beyond. Funding will allow the purchase and installation of remote-controlled blinds for the community cinema provision.

Alan Brown, chairperson of Spire View Housing Association, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this funding that will allow the Roystonhill Community Hub to further increase its functionality by delivering a community cinema. We are very grateful to Suez Communities trust for their support.”

Arlene Cooke, project manager of North Glasgow Healthy Living Community, said: “It’s fantastic news that Spire View Housing Association has been awarded funding for the installation of the skylight blinds. Our organisation will now be able to increase support for delivery of year-round accessible programmes such as our community-led Family Meal & Movie events.”

Marek Gordon, chairman of SUEZ Communities Trust, added: “SUEZ Communities Trust provides funding awards through the Scottish Landfill Communities Fund. We were delighted to be able to offer funding to Spire View Housing Association Limited.”
