Govan Housing Group has launched a wide-ranging community consultation to help shape a bold new Community Regeneration Strategy for Govan.

Govan Housing Association and its subsidiary companies, the HOME Team and Water Row Company, is inviting residents, businesses, and anyone with an interest in the area to take part in a community survey, sharing their views on how to make Govan an even better place to live, work and thrive.

The consultation marks the first step in creating a Community Regeneration Strategy that goes beyond bricks and mortar, aiming to revitalise the area and improve the quality of life for residents through a range of social, economic and environmental initiatives.

Jamie Mallan, director of community enterprises, said: “We believe that the people who live and work in Govan are best placed to shape its future so this consultation is all about listening.  We want to hear what matters most to the community – whether it’s improved green spaces, better homes, support for local businesses or more opportunities for young people.  Your views will directly influence our regeneration strategy and future investment plans.”

Surveys can be completed online at www.govanha.org.uk or picked up in paper form from the Housing Association offices.

Maxine Hendry, community engagement officer at Govan Housing Association, said: “We want everyone to feel part of this conversation – whether you’ve lived here all your life or just moved in.  We’ll be visiting local events, meeting groups, and sharing updates online and in person to make sure no voice goes unheard. This is your chance to help shape the future of your community.”

Community regeneration is about much more than providing homes. Govan Housing Group is committed to supporting the wider wellbeing of the area – by tackling inequality, enhancing public spaces, boosting employment opportunities, and strengthening local services and community networks.

Community members have already welcomed the chance to get involved.

Kathleen, a local resident who has lived in Govan for many years, said: “There is a need for Regeneration and welcome this, and I’m glad we’re being asked to have a say in that.”

The group is working closely with local partners and community organisations to support the consultation and analyse the responses. Govan Housing Group thanked these partners for their ongoing commitment to improving the area and helping deliver meaningful change.
