Cunninghame Housing Association (CHA) has presented a cheque for £1,000 to Gretna and Rigg Community Council.

Gretna and Rigg Community Council is a voluntary, non-profit organisation. They meet once a month to talk about their community council area, planning and funding applications.

Everyone is encouraged to share their concerns, ideas and proposals to make Gretna and Rigg a good place to live. They have created a Facebook page where they share information about events in and around the area. They talk about funding they have received, details of meetings and any other information of relevance to the local residents.

Cunninghame’s funding will assist with the cost of displaying this year’s Christmas lights. All of which proves to be a costly task, especially in the current climate.

Lesley Keenan, chairperson of CHA, said: “We are delighted to be able to give support to the Gretna and Rigg Community Council. Helping this project will help brighten up the streets during the festive period and spread some joy within the community.”
