Hanover rebrands telecare service ahead of next chapter

Esther Wilson

Hanover Scotland has renamed its long-established Community Alarm service as Hanover Connect, marking the next stage in the development of support which helps people across Scotland remain safe and confident in their own homes.

Esther Wilson, director of customer services at Hanover Scotland, said the new identity reflects how the service has evolved beyond a traditional community alarm, combining personal alert systems, monitoring technology and access to trained operators around the clock.

“The launch of Hanover Connect marks an exciting new chapter for our telecare service,” she said. “While the name is changing, our commitment to supporting people to live safely and independently at home remains exactly the same.

“Hanover Connect better reflects the wide range of services and support we provide every day to customers and their families across Scotland. It represents reassurance, safety and connection whenever help is needed.”

The telecare service supports older people, people with disabilities, individuals living with dementia and others who may feel vulnerable or unsafe at home.

Customers can use personal alarm equipment to contact trained operators 24 hours a day, seven days a week whenever they need assistance or reassurance.

Hanover Connect also provides pendant alarms and home alert systems, alongside technology designed to monitor risks such as smoke, flooding and gas.

Specialist telecare solutions are available for people living with dementia and customers with other support needs, allowing support to be tailored to individual circumstances.

When an alert is raised, trained operators can assess what is needed and provide immediate assistance. Depending on the situation, they can contact a family member or loved one, arrange further support or alert the emergency services.

The service is designed to reassure relatives and carers too, giving them confidence that help can be reached quickly if something goes wrong. Existing customers will not need to take any action as a result of the change, with current equipment, response services and support arrangements continuing as normal.

Support will continue to be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, helping people across Scotland live safely, securely and independently at home.
