A very sheltered housing development in Elgin is celebrating after three members of staff gave birth within three months of each other.

Laurie Dickson, Irmina Grabeusz and Sarah Anderson, all home support workers at Hanover Scotland’s Chandlers Court, had babies between the months of July and September this year. Laurie’s baby girl Everleigh was born on 4th July, Irmina’s baby boy Jovante was born on 5th August and Sarah’s baby girl Freya was born on 24th September.

To welcome the newborns to Chandlers Court and to give tenants the chance to meet them, a party was organised at the development. Everyone at the development was invited to join the celebration where they were treated to tea and cakes, while the mothers were each presented with a bouquet of flowers and the babies were given clothes kindly knitted for them by tenants.

Joan McPherson, housing with care manager at Chandlers Court, said: “Everyone at Chandlers Court was very excited to meet Everleigh, Jovante and Freya. Our oldest tenant is 101 years old so having the babies here at our development was a celebration from one generation to the next. Seeing the smiles on our tenants’ faces when the babies visited was just lovely.

“We are so lucky and very proud to have three beautiful healthy babies bring joy to all of us at Chandlers Court. We are all looking forward to the three new mums returning to work in the New Year.”

Sarah Anderson, mother of Freya, said: “It was lovely that three of us had babies within such a short time of each other. We all really enjoyed the celebration as it gave everyone the chance to get together and meet the youngest additions to the Chandlers Court family. It melted my heart to see the tenants holding my precious bundle of joy.”

Hanover Scotland’s Chandlers Court is located in the grounds of the former Lesmurdie House, one mile from the centre of Elgin.
