Helen, who takes up the role in September, will also join the Home Group board, bringing extensive experience from Scotland’s housing, public and third sector.

A well-known figure in Scottish housing, Helen spent 13 years as chief executive of Berwickshire Housing Association and has served as the chair of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA). She is currently a board member of Castles and Coasts Housing Association and deputy chair of South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE).

She has also held senior positions with Places for People and Edinvar Housing Association.

Helen has a deep understanding of housing with experience in leadership, governance, community development and regeneration.

“I am looking forward to helping Home Group deliver the best possible services for customers and build homes that help people live happy, safe and healthy lives.

“As a member of the Home Group board, I also hope to bring insight and a Scottish perspective to the wider organisation, while learning from talented colleagues.”

Helen takes over from Susan Deacon CBE, who served as Home Group Scotland chair between 2021 and 2026.

Bryony added: “Susan provided strong leadership during a period of significant growth for Home Group Scotland, helping us deliver almost 900 new homes, strengthen partnerships supporting sustainable communities and regeneration, and increasing our contribution and voice on the issues shaping Scotland’s housing sector, and I’d like to thank her for everything she has brought to Home Group Scotland.”
