Audrey Simpson and John Duncan have accepted leading positions on the board of Partick Thistle Charitable Trust (PTCT) following the resignation of Randle Wilson.

The director for Scotland at Home Group, Audrey Simpson was nominated to take on the role of chair, while John Duncan, the investment director at Partick Housing Association, has been named vice chair.

Confirming the decision of Randle Wilson, managing director of The Furnishing Service, to resign as chair, a PTCT spokesperson said: “Everyone at the Trust would like to thank Randle for his contributions, and especially at a very difficult time when we sadly lost our Trust manager Paul Kelly, Randle stepped up to assist Diane and David with the day to day operations.

“Randle was also key in the development of the Trust securing the lease for Petershill Park, something that we would not have been able to accomplish without his wise counsel and patient advice. As you look back on your time with us, please know that our achievements would not have been possible without you at the helm.”

Audrey Simpson said: “I am honoured to take over the reigns from Randle Wilson as chair of Partick Thistle Charitable Trust (PTCT). Randle was passionate about the Trust and firmly believed in our vision, values and everything we stand for. Randle’s mindset was infectious with his positivity, drive and determination. On behalf of the Trust, I want to thank Randle for leading us through some of our most challenging times and wish him well for the future.

“Having been a Trustee for over 8 years I am thrilled to have been appointed as chair, supported by John Duncan as our new vice chair. Working with the other Trustees and our dedicated team, our priority will be to continue to make a difference and have a positive impact in the communities we serve.”
