Insite wins damp and mould contract with East Dunbartonshire Council

Insite Group has been appointed to the East Dunbartonshire Council Damp & Mould Framework, the first major tender of its kind since the introduction of Awaab’s Law and critical amendments to the Housing (Scotland) Bill.

The three-year framework (with an optional one-year extension) mandates Insite Group to provide comprehensive Damp, Mould, and Condensation & Ventilation (DMCV) services across the Authority’s domestic and commercial property portfolio.

The scope of work includes:

  • Specialist Surveys: Detailed diagnostics to identify root causes.
  • Eradication: Professional removal of mould and condensation-damaged materials.
  • Reinstatement: High-quality restoration of surfaces and structural elements.
  • Prevention: Supply, installation, and maintenance of cutting-edge preventative measures to ensure long-term property health.

The tender is a direct response to the shifting legislative landscape in Scotland. With the recent integration of Awaab’s Law principles into Scottish housing standards, landlords are now held to rigorous statutory timescales for investigating and remediating dampness.

“Winning this tender is a testament to nearly a decade of research, development, and on-the-ground dedication by our Specialist Services team,” said Gordon Bruce, director of Insite Specialist Services.

“While many are just now adapting to the requirements of Awaab’s Law, we have been refining our approach since 2017 to ensure that tenants can live in safe, mould-free homes without the need for disruptive displacement.”
