Kingdom Housing Association has presented a cheque for £1000 to MS Society (Scotland), its nominated charity of the year.

Staff raised £609 through various fund raising events and Kingdom topped up the amount to £1,000.

Kingdom staff handed the cheque over to Katie Bruce, area fund raiser from MS Society Scotland.

Katie said: “Thank you so much for inviting me along today and thank you for fundraising for the MS Society. The fantastic £1,000 you have raised could fund over 19 hours of research or could support the society in providing support through our pre phone helpline to 210 people newly diagnosed with MS.”

She added: “In Edinburgh there is research into how to re-protect the nerves that are affected and in Glasgow there is research looking at how specific genes affect MS as well as how certain types of exercise might help people living with MS. Without the amazing support of charities like Kingdom Housing Association, we would not be able to be making as many exciting advances throughout 2015.”

Bill Banks, chief executive of Kingdom Housing Association, said: “We are pleased to have been able to support such a deserving cause. Once again, our staff did a great job fundraising for our annual nominated charity.”
