Kingdom staff inspired by former SAS soldier’s powerful accounts at annual conference
Kingdom Group staff gathered at Rothes Halls for their annual conference, where they were treated to a moving presentation by former SAS soldier Colin MacLachlan.
More than 200 staff from the Fife-based housing association met to celebrate success, share knowledge and to hear how they’ll continue to deliver exceptional service to nearly 8,000 homes.
To kick off the event, Colin shared his experiences from the field and linked that mindset to resilience, teamwork, leadership and how to adapt to change within business.
Kingdom finds itself in a strong position for the year ahead thanks to an emphasis on cross-departmental working, relationship-building and a collective effort to listen and act, and the conference marked a point for staff at Kingdom to come together to discuss how they’re continuing to deliver positive change for their customers.
Kingdom Housing Association chair Linda Leslie said: “The work Kingdom does has never been more important. The economic pressures on our customers have not eased. For many of them, keeping their homes warm, keeping food on the table, and managing debt and uncertainty are daily pressures, daily worries and a daily reality.
“That context shapes everything Kingdom does. It is why the quality of our services matter so much. When we work well together, our customers feel it.”
Group chief executive Tom Barclay added: “I’ve said it before and I mean it every time — Kingdom is a brilliant organisation with a brilliant history. The work we do as a full team is genuinely life changing, but what makes it brilliant isn’t the strategy or the buildings or the speeches. It’s the people.
“When we succeed together, our customers benefit and that’s what keeps us moving forward and providing more than a home.”
