Kingdom Support & Care goes for gold at staff conference

Staff from Kingdom Support & Care gathered at the Carnegie Conference Centre in Dunfermline this week for their annual conference.

More than 250 staff from the Fife-based care provider met over three half-days to celebrate success and share knowledge to help them continue delivering life-changing services across Fife and the Forth Valley.

Kingdom Support & Care (KSC), part of the Kingdom Group, provides over 8,000 hours of high-quality personalised support each week that helps people live independently in their own homes, live the lives they choose for themselves and achieve their full potential.

The conference theme was ‘Going for Gold’ and focused on KSC’s high performance, how to maintain the gold standard of care and where that fits in with personal and organisational goals.

The event was hosted by Paul White, director of Support & Care, and guest speakers included Jon Ralphs, an independent consultant with over 25 years of experience in health and social care.

Staff also benefited from a presentation by Kane Moffat and Colin Thomson of Capital Credit Union, who explained how their organisation can support the financial wellbeing of KSC staff.

Speaking about the staff event, Paul White, said: “It’s been excellent to get everyone together for this year’s conference. It’s the people who make KSC and we want to acknowledge and celebrate their successes of the past year.

“We all work in a demanding sector and understand the obstacles we face, but KSC staff will always rise to the challenge.

“The stories of real-life transformations for our care users are what makes the hard work so worthwhile, and we’ve all enjoyed the chance to hear about some true successes this week.

“The conference is the ideal time for staff to come together, and feel re-energised and ready for the year ahead.”

Liz Preston, a member of KSC’s board, said: “The conference blew my mind once again!  The interactive sessions were fantastic and the 13 ‘good news’ stories were all incredible.

“I feel honoured and proud to be part of such an amazing organisation.”

Dale McKenna, a support worker with KSC, said: “The conference was very inspiring, and it was reassuring to see the positive impact Kingdom has on people’s lives.

“I left the conference proud of the work that we do and motivated to continue making a difference.”
