The sun came out for Kingdom Group’s Big Day Out at Craigtoun Country Park, near St Andrews, and families made the most of the free event for customers.
Days like this are a cornerstone of the Group’s tenant participation strategy and give customers the opportunity to speak to a broad range of staff from across the Kingdom Group in a relaxed and informal setting.
The Adopt-a-Teddy activity was a big hit with youngsters, and guests were able to take advantage of the crazy golf, tractor rides and the adventure playgrounds to make it a fun day out for all the family.
Over 160 guests from across Fife, Perth and East Central Scotland heard about the extensive range of free support and advice services available, including energy and money advice and Kingdom’s in-house employability project, Kingdom Works.
Information was also available on how to join the Scrutiny Panel. The group is made up of Kingdom tenants and customers, and was created to independently review Kingdom’s performance and service. The members speak on behalf of tenants, recommend improvements, and work with Kingdom to make sure they continue to offer more than a home.

Scrutiny Panel member Peter Christie said: “We’re looking for people who care about making things better. You don’t need any special experience, just a willingness to share your views, ideas or questions. It would be ideal to have an even spread of ages and genders, so we’d be happy to welcome and support anyone who’s interested in joining and getting involved.”
Kingdom Housing Association board member Loretta Mordi attended the event and said: “We were delighted to see so many people at the Big Day Out. Events like this are key to maintaining our strong and meaningful relationships.
“Not all families are in a position to afford days out like this, and I’m proud that Kingdom is able to offer ongoing help and advice as we pursue our mission of providing more than a home.”
Wendy Sommer, a Kingdom tenant from Leuchars ,was there with her family and said: “We love events like this with Kingdom, where the whole family can meet up and enjoy a day out. Kingdom is the best landlord I’ve ever had. I’m really happy in my home.”
