Kirkcaldy’s Rosslyn Gait development nears completion
Rosslyn Gait
Kirkcaldy is set to welcome the final stages of a major new housing development, with Persimmon Homes North Scotland nearing completion of its Rosslyn Gait project.
The long-term development, which began in 2018, has delivered 217 new homes – ranging from two-bedroom terraced houses to four-bedroom detached family homes – creating a vibrant new neighbourhood on the edge of the town.
Rosslyn Gait has also been a boost to the local economy, creating 146 direct construction jobs and supporting a further 111 roles across the local supply chain. In addition, Persimmon has invested more than £217,000 in local education projects and transport improvements to benefit the wider community.
The development has also supported local organisations through Persimmon’s Community Champions programme, including £1,000 to Kirkcaldy Rugby Club, £3,000 to The Kings Theatre, and £5,000 to Raith Rovers Community Foundation.
When local ice hockey star Logan Adam pursued a career in Ontario with the WHA Sabres, Persimmon helped cover his living expenses overseas. Apprentice Casey Gardner designed and painted the Showmen’s Guild Hobby Horse, unveiled at this year’s Links Market and now a permanent feature on Kirkcaldy Esplanade.
James MacKay, managing director of Persimmon Homes North Scotland, said: “We’re proud of what Rosslyn Gait has delivered for Kirkcaldy – not just high-quality, energy-efficient homes, but real benefits for local families, schools, and community groups.
“This development has created jobs, supported apprenticeships, and helped local organisations thrive. As we approach completion, it’s rewarding to see a neighbourhood take shape that people will be proud to call home.”
A limited number of homes are still available at Rosslyn Gait, including two, three, and four-bedroom properties. With modern, energy-efficient designs and a strong sense of community already established, these homes offer an ideal opportunity for first-time buyers and growing families to settle in Kirkcaldy.
