Link receives Parliamentary acknowledgement for national industry awards success

Link Group celebrate winning Housing Organisation of the Year Award and Excellence in Communications Award at the CIH Scotland Housing Awards 2023

Link Group has been praised by an MSP for winning two awards at the CIH Scotland Housing Awards 2023.

The judges awarded Link the Housing Organisation of the Year Award for the Link Group at 60 – Sustainable Homes, Sustainable Communities, Sustainable Business.

Link also received the Excellence in Communications award for its transformative communications to engage tenants, communities, and staff.

Miles Briggs MSP, who is a member of the Scottish Parliament’s Local Government, Housing, and Planning Committee, has submitted a parliamentary motion congratulating Link on its achievements.

The motion said: “That the Parliament congratulates Link Group, one the largest providers of affordable housing and support services, winning two awards at the recent Chartered Institute of Housing Awards 2023 event, which was held in Glasgow; understands that these annual awards are presented in national recognition of the creativity, passion and innovation of housing organisations and individuals across the sector; commends that, from over hundred nominations across 19 categories, the Link Group picked up two awards; recognises that the first award was for the Housing Organisation of the Year; understands that the Link Group, now in its 60th year of operation, and through its Link Advice Service staff has supported, and continue to support, tenants through the cost of living crisis and distributes crisis funds to those most in need of help; further understands that it distributes funds to help pay with heating bills, invests in training its staff through the LinkLiving’s Skills Academy and has a tenancy sustainment rate of 97.64% in 2023, which, it believes, demonstrate its commitment to supporting tenants to continue to live in their homes; understands that it has committed to a sustainability strategy for future sustainable homes, sustainable communities, and sustainable business; recognises that the second award was for Excellence in Communications for its transformative communications to engage tenants, communities and staff and believes that this is a great achievement, considering that this is only the second year of its revamped Link communications team, and wishes the Link Group continued success in the benefit that it brings to its staff, its tenants and the community it creates.”

Link Group chief executive Jon Turner said: “I am delighted Link’s vital and transformative work in supporting tenants and communities is receiving national recognition not only from the housing sector but also from politicians from across the political spectrum as well. I want to acknowledge the fantastic dedication of our staff, who work tirelessly to improve lives and communities.”
