Dedicated staff members have been honoured at Bield’s 2017 AGM for their service to the leading housing and care provider for Scotland’s older population.

Grant Hutchison, Bield’s health and safety manager, was part of the group of colleagues that celebrated a combined total of 175 years of service with the charity.

As a thanks for his long-standing dedication to Bield, Grant was presented with a certificate and flowers in front of fellow colleagues, tenants and Board Members at this year’s AGM.

He said: “It’s really nice to have been recognised for my work at this year’s AGM.

“I originally joined Bield because it felt like a family organisation doing great work in the local community. After working there for 15 years I can see that that’s exactly what it is.

“The people I work with are fantastic and its things like being able to sit down with the tenants to have a cup of tea and a chat that makes my job so rewarding.”

This year’s long service awards recognised the dedicated members of staff who have spent 15 or more years caring for and helping all of Bield’s tenants and residents across Scotland.

Linda Lee, who works as an asset management co-ordinator in Bield’s Glasgow office, and Alexandra Stewart, who works as retirement housing manager at Bield’s McCormack Gardens in Motherwell, were also recognised at the event.

Susan Napier, chair of Bield, said: “Without the consistent and committed hard work of our staff at Bield, all we have managed to achieve as a leading housing and care provider over the past 46 years would not have been possible.

“It gives me great joy to be able to present these Long Service Awards to so many staff members who often to go above and beyond the call of duty to enrich the lives of the many hundreds of older people that they work with.

“Recognising their dedication to providing constant care at this year’s AGM is so important to us at Bield. Without our team of incredibly loyal staff, we would struggle to provide the consistent level of service that we do.”
