Mary Taylor becomes Alice Herself

As East Lothian Housing Association’s (ELHA) journey Through the Looking Glass continues, who better to reflect on adventures past and present but Alice Herself, otherwise known as Dr Mary Taylor, former chief executive of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA)?

Alice Herself is guest speaker at ELHA’s Annual General Meeting on September 25, in Haddington (the geographic centre of Wonderland). Alice was described by Lewis Carroll as “loving and gentle”, “courteous to all”, “trustful” and “wildly curious”, and by other commentators as “outspoken and forthright in challenging authority” and “generally well mannered”, so she should make for an interesting and entertaining guest speaker.

Once again, the Mad Hatter will be serving tea and, if anyone really insists, coffee too.

Not got an invite? Worry not!

To the looking glass world it was Alice that said: “I’ve a sceptre in hand, I’ve a crown on my head. Let the looking glass creatures whatever they be, Come and dine with the Red Queen, the White Queen and me!”

So if your invite got lost in the post somewhere, just contact us by magic (or e-mail) wonderland@elha.com – and we’ll see what we can do. Six o’clock is time for tea so don’t be late – but please note we cannot guarantee that time will have stood still by the time you leave the Looking Glass World.
