New head of development appointed at East Lothian Council

East Lothian Council has appointed a new head of development.
Keith Dingwall will step into the role from his current position as the council’s service manager for planning and chief planning officer.
Elsewhere, Eamon John, who is currently service manager for sport, countryside and leisure, is to be appointed as head of communities.
Interim arrangements have been in place for both roles since Spring 2024.
Chief executive Laurence Rockey said: “Following very rigorous external recruitment and selection processes, I would like to congratulate Keith and Eamon on their appointments to these key senior leadership positions.
“High-calibre candidates were interviewed by a sub-committee of elected members. As well as having vast experience and deep knowledge, Keith and Eamon were able to demonstrate the qualities required to be highly effective and strategic members of our Council Management Team.
“It is an exciting time for East Lothian with great opportunities to grow the local economy, maintain the pace of improvement and sustain high-quality services for the communities we serve. We look forward to working closely with both Keith and Eamon, and the fantastic teams they will lead, in the months and years ahead.
“Finally, I would like to pay tribute and express my huge thanks to Ray Montgomery and Caroline Rodgers, who have filled these roles on a temporary basis, making significant and very effective contributions to the running of the council and ensuring strong collaboration with our partners.”
