Nomination success for Bield development

BIELD_WG_INTERIORS_HPR-55A Bield housing development for older buyers in St Andrews has secured nominations in an impressive four categories at an upcoming property awards ceremony.

The Walled Gardens, located in the heart of the historic town, has been nominated in the Apartment Development of the Year, Development (Age Exclusive), Large Affordable Housing Development (Housing Associations) and Large Housing Development categories at this year’s Scottish Home Awards.

Founded in 2007, this year’s ceremony takes place at the Glasgow Hilton on the 15th June and looks to honour the achievements of the most innovative and successful house builders, developers and registered social landlords.

Caryn Innes, head of development at Bield, said: “The Walled Gardens offers the opportunity to change your lifestyle and is set in a truly beautiful setting.

“It will offer downsizers and those looking to make the most of their later years the chance to enjoy an exciting and liberating phase of their life while continuing to enjoy the freedom of independent living.”

The 78 one and two-bed modern apartments are the result of an innovative partnership between Robertson Homes and Bield.

Sharon Spinelli, sales and marketing director at Robertson Homes, said: “Robertson Homes is thrilled to be nominated for its Walled Gardens development, alongside Bield Housing & Care. This development partnership has brought varied living options to the beautiful, historic town of St Andrews; from affordable homes to luxury apartments and townhouses and, of course, our retirement apartments that were developed in close partnership with Bield.

“It’s been a fantastic opportunity to create a development in this unique location and to showcase our beautiful homes. The apartments were specifically tailored to retirees, with local services within easy reach - they meet the discerning needs of the residents, ensuring that they are part of a community.

“Design, which works harmoniously with St Andrew’s historic architecture, security and comfort were all priorities for us. The Walled Gardens’ apartments are true to the high specifications and standards that represent Robertson Homes’ commitment to building exceptional homes across Scotland.”

The nominations follow on from Bield’s previous success at the awards where its St Andrew’s View development in Bearsdean was previously named Senior Living Development of the Year.
