Oak Tree marks 25 years of supporting Inverclyde communities

Oak Tree Housing Association has officially launched its 25th anniversary celebrations, marking a quarter of a century of providing homes and services across Inverclyde.

Since its formation in 2001, the Greenock-based Association has grown to manage over 1,800 homes and support around 1,000 factored owners, playing a key role in sustaining local communities and investing in neighbourhoods.

The anniversary programme, which begins this month, will run throughout the year and include a range of community events, tenant-focused activities, and partnerships with local schools and organisations.

As part of the celebrations, Oak Tree is launching a series of community competitions, including designing a special anniversary logo, creating a mascot, and inviting young people to share their vision of housing and communities over the next 25 years.

Sean Connor, chief executive of Oak Tree Housing Association, said: “Reaching our 25th anniversary is a significant milestone for Oak Tree and for the communities we serve. Over the past 25 years, we have not only provided homes, but helped support strong, resilient neighbourhoods across Inverclyde.

“This anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on that impact, but more importantly to look ahead. We are focused on continuing to deliver high-quality homes, strengthening our services, and ensuring we are well positioned to meet the changing needs of our tenants and customers over the years ahead.

“The conversations we are having now with our staff, Management Committee and communities will help shape the next phase of our business plan and ensure we remain a strong, community-based organisation for the long term.”

Sandra McMenamin, chair of Oak Tree Housing Association, added: “Oak Tree has always been rooted in the community it serves, and that local accountability remains fundamental to who we are. This anniversary is a reflection of sustained commitment over many years from our Management Committee, staff and partners and the trust that tenants and customers continue to place in the Association.

“As chair, I am particularly proud of the strength of our governance and the clear focus on long-term stewardship. Our role is to ensure that Oak Tree remains financially resilient, well governed, and capable of delivering for both current and future generations across Inverclyde.”

The celebrations will bring together tenants, customers, staff and community partners, with further events and activities to be announced over the coming months.

Oak Tree is encouraging local people to get involved and play a part in shaping the next chapter of the Association’s story.
