Prestigious gold accreditation marks bold step forward for Hanover

Hanover Scotland has been awarded a golden seal of approval in recognition of its commitment to empowering its workforce and delivering exceptional outcomes.

The housing provider has secured the prestigious Investors in People (IIP) Gold accreditation, a rigorous benchmark that places it among an elite group of employers recognised for exceptional leadership, culture, and continuous improvement.

Securing Gold places Hanover among the UK’s top-performing organisations, with only 28% achieving this standard, a result that reflects its strong leadership and sustained investment in a culture where colleagues feel valued, supported, and empowered to grow.

The recognition follows an extensive external assessment examining how effectively providers lead and supports its people. The organisation was praised for its clear values, collaborative culture, and its commitment to continuous improvement across its services.

Angela Currie, chief executive of Hanover Scotland, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to receive the Investors in People Gold accreditation. This is a fantastic reflection of our people and the culture we’ve built together.

“At Hanover, we know that our success depends on our team — their passion, professionalism, and commitment to delivering great outcomes for our residents. This recognition demonstrates how everyone plays a part in making Hanover an outstanding place to work and grow.”

The accreditation showcases Hanover’s progress in embedding continuous learning and strengthening a people-first approach across the organisation.

The Gold award is a major achievement under the Investors in People framework, which rigorously tests how well organisations lead, support, and develop their people. Covering everything from values and leadership to wellbeing and continuous learning, it sets an exceptionally high bar and is one reached by only a quarter of organisations.

“We’re proud of this achievement, but we’re not standing still,” Angela added. “We’ll continue to listen, learn, and invest in our people as we work towards our vision of providing high-quality housing and services for older people across Scotland.”
