Procast Group wins 36-home retrofit contract in Argyll village

Procast Group has won a contract to bring £2.4 million worth of energy efficient improvements to 36 homes in an Argyll & Bute village.

The firm has secured the project win with Dunbritton Housing Association to bring 36 homes in the village of Rosneath up to standard through retrofitting.

The significant multi-million-pound project, which will follow Procurement for Housing (PfH) Scotland frameworks, is funded 50% by Dunbritton Housing Association and the other £1.2m is coming from Procast Group which has secured ECO4 funding to drive the project forward.

Taking three months to complete, the project will see the properties fully upgraded to the PAS2035 standard as they are fitted with an External Wall Insulation (EWI) system, triple-glazed doors and windows, new insulation, mechanical ventilation, air source heat pumps and photovoltaic (PV) panels.

Working in partnership with Dunbritton Housing Association, PfH Scotland, Framed Estates Architects and Structherm, once completed the project will have a hugely positive impact on living conditions for tenants as well as help to reduce their energy bills.

The company, which currently employs over 130 staff is a market leader in retrofitting work and innovative multi-trade contracting projects across Scotland and the North of England.

Derek Innes, owner and managing director of Procast Group, said: “We have been working with Dunbritton Housing Association for more than a year in an effort to get this project off the ground and, thanks to their support and the funding, we have managed to secure a deal.

“This is our first project with them, and we are excited to see what the partnership can achieve. The positive effect this project will have on the tenants of these 26 homes is massive, and the energy efficiencies it will drive forward is significant. It is something we are incredibly proud to be leading the way within Scotland and the North of England.”

Paul Sweeney, asset manager at Dunbritton Housing Association, said: “The Association is delighted to announce the retrofit project to 36 of our properties in the Rosneath area.

“We have worked hard to find a solution to bring these properties up to the EESSH standard. We are confident that this project will provide our tenants with warmer, greener and more energy efficient homes.”
