Glasgow-based retrofitting specialist Procast has secured a tender win with West Lothian Council worth £16 million over four years.

Procast has developed a reputation for quality retrofitting work, bringing older properties up to modern standards. This significant win marks the beginning of a transformative journey for the Council’s properties, aligning them with the Social Housing Quality Standards (SHQS).

Over the next four years, more than 1200 residents of West Lothian will see their homes enhanced with new kitchens and bathrooms including any medical adaptations.

The works will be conducted in a live environment, where Procast’s customer liaison officers will work together with West Lothian Council and tenants to ensure a smooth transition. Residents are eager to have the works carried out and have been proactive in selecting finishing touches for their homes, reflecting their personal tastes and needs.

In anticipation of the work ahead, Procast has also opened a new depot in the region to support the project. This facility will house site management teams and materials, emphasising Procast’s dedication to the region.

Derek Innes, managing director of Procast, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, he said: “As a business, Procast pride ourselves on our commitment to long-standing clients, and having repeat contract awards really showcases our work ethic and end product. Having worked with West Lothian Council for more than 10 years, this contract award further demonstrates our ability to deliver a quality end product and achieve client and customer excellence.

“We are also cementing our commitment to the region and this 4-year project by opening a depot in Deans, Livingston to accommodate the materials and teams working on the project.”

The award of this contract is a testament to the ongoing relationship between Procast and West Lothian Council, complementing an already extensive programme of roof, render works and void reinstatement that Procast are already conducting for the council.
