Regulator welcomes feedback on its communications

The Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) has welcomed the findings of independent research on its communications with stakeholders.

The research findings show that stakeholders generally find the range of communication methods SHR uses useful. Almost all (99%) said its publications, and website (96%) were useful. And, 95% said they found direct contact with SHR useful, with four-fifths of these saying it is very useful.

Most (85%) said the amount of information and the frequency of publications is about right. And most (82%) said the quality is very good or good.

The survey also includes some suggestions to help the Regulator further develop its approach.

Iain Muirhead, the Regulator’s director of digital and business support, said: “So much has changed about how we all live, work and communicate over the past few years. So, it’s really positive to hear that, overall, people continue to find the information we publish useful. And, that the quantity and quality still feel right.

“I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to take part in the survey. Your feedback helps give us valuable insight into how you use our information. We’ll use your feedback, alongside feedback we gather through our direct engagement with our stakeholders, to help inform how we communicate in the future.”

The survey explored people’s preferences for accessing information and looked at which regulatory publications they value most.

Independent researchers Progressive Partnership ran the survey on the Regulator’s behalf. There were 111 responses from RSLs, local authorities, tenant organisations, representative groups and other bodies.

The Regulator will use the findings to help develop and tailor its future communications approach.
