Riverside Scotland hails quadruple awards shortlisting

Riverside Scotland has welcomed being shortlisted in four categories at the prestigious CIH Scotland Awards, recognising its commitment to excellence, innovation, and putting tenants first.
Housing Organisation of the Year
Riverside Scotland’s tenant-first approach has delivered real, lasting change for communities. Over the past year, the organisation expanded Scotland’s first Housing First for Families service, secured over £393,000 in financial gains for tenants, provided emergency support, and empowered communities through local events, digital inclusion, and skills projects. With 87% customer satisfaction and high tenancy sustainment, Riverside Scotland is making a measurable difference.
Excellence in Leadership
Former managing director Diana MacLean led a transformative journey, building a culture of trust, collaboration, and accountability. Her ‘Big Conversation’ initiative gathered feedback from over 1,400 tenants, directly shaping service improvements. Under her leadership, Riverside Scotland delivered 190 new homes, invested in energy efficiency upgrades, and launched innovative services—earning Housing Association of the Year at the 2024 Scotland Energy Efficiency Awards.
Housing-Led Approaches to Ending Homelessness
The Housing First for Families service has supported 46 families into safe, permanent homes with a 100% tenancy sustainment rate—well above the national average. The service, now core to Riverside Scotland’s operations, has expanded thanks to strong partnerships and a compassionate, person-centred approach.
Excellence in Tenant Scrutiny
Riverside Scotland’s Service Improvement Group ensures tenant voices shape services. Their recommendations have improved void management, reduced re-let times, and enhanced the complaints process, embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
Gary Naylor, managing director of Riverside Scotland, said: “Being shortlisted in four categories is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the passion and commitment across Riverside Scotland. We’re proud of the difference we’re making in people’s lives and grateful to our tenants, staff, and partners who make it all possible. Together, we’re building stronger communities and creating lasting change. Congratulations to all the nominees!”
The CIH Scotland Awards ceremony will take place on Friday, 14 November 2025.
