Rob Griffiths has assumed the role of chief executive officer at Housemark, effective as of 1 June 2023.

Mr Griffiths brings a wealth of housing sector and leadership experience to housing data specialist Housemark. He previously led housing management software provider, Aareon UK, and has over two decades of technology and business services experience.

In his new position, Mr Griffiths is keen to address the myriad financial and regulatory challenges confronting social housing providers.

He said: “I’ve admired the organisation from afar and seen it become a standard bearer within the sector for data and performance excellence, so I’m really excited to get started and build on our pedigree, delivering the performance benchmarking and insights our customers expect.”

With social housing providers currently confronting a range of financial and regulatory pressures, Mr Griffith believes Housemark is well-placed to help tackle these issues head on.

He said: “Landlords are currently operating in an incredibly challenging environment with factors such as the cost-of-living crisis, rent caps, cases of damp and mould and new regulation all creating performance issues.

“I want to work with our members and clients to support them during these difficult times. It’s vital organisations have straightforward access to data in one place to inform and guide their decision-making process.

“I have already spoken with customers who agree data provides a window into the world of insight and prediction. Data can help the sector to move from a traditional reactive operational environment to one that can be more proactive and forward-looking, which in turn enables landlords to improve many aspects of their business.”

Reflecting on his career to date, Mr Griffith said: “Throughout my career there has always been a high emphasis on nurturing talent and creating high-performing teams to better engage customers and the wider market, and to steer towards improved customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. In my mind, this is what I hope to achieve at Housemark by building on our strong reputation and delivering our very best for customers.”
