Regulator shares advice for landlords on surveying tenants and service users

The Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) has published updated advisory guidance for landlords on surveying their tenants and service users about how they are performing against the Scottish Social Housing Charter.

The advisory guidance was developed and produced by independent research firm, Engage, on the Regulator’s behalf. It outlines the range of survey methods available to landlords, and sets out best practice approaches for each method.

John Jellema, assistant director of regulation, said: “We’ve published this refreshed guide to help support landlords when they are carrying out their own surveys of tenants and service users.

“It includes advice, tips, and good practice on the range of ways landlords can reach out to and engage with tenants and service users including through digital options. We’ve also streamlined the advisory guidance to make it easier to use.

“We hope landlords find this guide a useful tool to use when designing and tailoring surveys.”
