Senior Officers’ Network Event

Senior Officers’ Network Event

Share’s Senior Officers’ Network aims to bring together leaders from the housing sector to connect, share experiences, and support each other through the unique challenges they face.

This new event will provide a platform for open conversations and discussions, offering participants the opportunity to learn from each other and gain valuable insight from engaging keynote speakers.

Share encourages senior officers to join the network and take advantage of the support and collaboration it offers. Being at the top can be lonely, but through this network, leaders can find camaraderie and understanding from peers who can relate to their experiences.

At the launch, we will hear from Gillian Neish, director of Neish Training Ltd, who will discuss ‘Unconscious bias and leadership - Why leaders are so important when creating and maintaining inclusive environments.’ Gillian works with individuals and organisations in all sectors to help them recognise and fulfil their potential. The focus of her work is power, whether challenging the power inequities of racism, sexism and the other ‘isms’ or developing personal power through personal development programmes.

The next topic ‘Making critical decisions’ will be delivered by Andrew Pain. Andrew is a TEDx and motivational speaker, leading in his work on men’s mental health and talent development, talking about men’s mental health, critical decision-making, burnout, imposter syndrome and the mastery of time. Andrew has worked recently with organisations such as Specsavers, Lidl, Amazon, Public Health Wales, and the University of Liverpool.

We will also hear from Dr Terri Hunter who is an organisational development manager and chartered, occupational psychologist who will discuss ‘Self-care and resilience for senior staff’ and leaders within their organisations.

To round up the afternoon, Andy Young, chief executive of East Kilbride Housing Association (EKHA), will talk about ‘Workplace engagement/culture’ and discuss the journey which has led to EKHA being crowned ‘UK Platinum Employer of the Year’ by Investors in People in 2023.

The launch event takes place at The Trades Hall in Glasgow on 30th January.

More information can be found here along with the programme, so be sure to come along for some lunch, networking and an insightful afternoon!
