Simon Community Scotland benefits as Cala showhome furniture finds new home

Cala Homes (West) had a different type of sale to raise funds for Simon Community Scotland.
The homebuilder held a showhome furniture sale for staff and raised more than £3,250 before donating the funds to the homeless charity, which is the largest provider of homelessness services in Scotland.
Cala has recently sold out at a duo of developments – Gilchrist Gardens in Erskine and Balgray Gardens in Newton Mearns - which had a collection of four showhomes between both developments and plenty of furniture handpicked by interior designers looking for a new home.

Following the completion of the recent showhomes, furniture and accessories were offered for sale to employees, with all proceeds donated to help people experiencing homelessness through Simon Community Scotland.
Dawn Lawrence, sales manager at Cala Homes (West), said: “Following the sell out success of two of our most popular developments in Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire, we had accumulated plenty of high-quality furniture.
“We thought it was the perfect opportunity to give staff the chance to purchase their favourite pieces whilst giving back to a worthwhile charity.
“We’re proud to have raised £3,250 from this sale alone, and we know it will be put to good use helping those who are currently experiencing homelessness across Scotland.”

Murray Easton, head of fundraising and communications at Simon Community Scotland, added: “We are absolutely delighted by Cala’s support - they have helped us in several ways over the years through staff fundraising, volunteering, the donation of furniture and now this incredible donation.
“Their understanding of what we are currently doing at Simon Community Scotland, as well as our ambition to do more is hugely motivating and this donation will help us continue to provide safe places, support and hope to people experiencing homelessness.”
Simon Community supports adults and young people who are experiencing homelessness, or are at risk of homelessness, by providing them with whatever they need – a place to live, support to retain their home or support with day-to-day life.
