Completed in May this year and delivered in collaboration with national housing specialist Lovell Partnerships, the 100 homes at Builyeon Road consist of 64 two-bedroom flats, 16 two-bedroom houses and 20 three-bedroom houses, forming part of a wider 398-home masterplan. 

The 100 homes have been built with the use of an offsite-manufactured timber-framed system made with materials that have been sourced sustainably. 

Gillian Lavety, development director for Sanctuary Scotland, said: “These high-quality homes fitted with energy-saving products will provide much-needed affordable housing for people and families in South Queensferry, while helping to create a sustainable and well-connected new community.”

On 26 August, the milestone was marked by a visit to The Crossings from representatives of Sanctuary Scotland and Lovell, as well as members of the Queensferry & District Community Council, who visited the development and met with residents in their new homes.

Tony Rankin, Lovell regional managing director Scotland, said: “Developments like this are about far more than the homes themselves. They’re about creating places where people want to live and where communities can grow.”

Local resident, Suzanne Maclean, said: “My first impressions are absolutely wonderful. 

“The build quality feels incredibly solid, safe and beautifully put together.

“I would rate the design and finishes 10 out of 10, and the layout is bright, spacious and perfect for my everyday needs, with stunning views.”

Maclean added: “What I value most is how dry, warm and highly accessible the property is. It provides a genuinely safe environment for my health.

“The South Queensferry location is absolutely beautiful, quiet and peaceful. It is also very convenient, with great local amenities nearby, lovely walks and easy access to the motorway.”

Grant funding from the Scottish Government has supported the delivery of the new homes.
