Street planters have been given a new lease of life in the Elderpark community as part of Elderpark Housing’s 50th birthday activities.

The large planters, which have been in place for some years, received a spring refresh with a paint job and were restocked with shrubs and, in some cases, trees.

Feedback from tenants has continually focused on a desire to keep the neighbourhood looking good and the revitalised planters are one way of doing this.

Chris Gallacher, Elderpark’s estate management co-ordinator, said: “Giving the planters a makeover is the ideal way to begin our community activity as  part of our 50th birthday celebrations.”
